Welcome to Wyoming Valley West Senior High School!

At WVW Senior High School, students are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in creating a learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Whether you're exploring your passions in the classroom, on the stage, in athletics, or through clubs and extracurricular activities, you'll find opportunities to grow, lead, and make lasting memories. Our dedicated teachers and staff are here to guide and challenge you as you prepare for your next chapter; college, career, military service, or wherever your goals may lead.

TVSpartanGames

The WVW High School is happy to announce that we will be hosting the 3rd Annual Spartan Games. The Spartan Games mirror the format of the Prime Video show "Beast Games" where students will be competing in a series of mini-games (such as Red light, Green Light). Students will face elimination in each round of the competition until there is only one student remaining. The last remaining student will win a minimum of $300 in prizes!

The event will take place on Thursday, February 26th from 2:45 PM - 5:00 PM (directly after the school day) in the high school gym. Please see Mr. Hettes in room 321 to sign-up or for more details. The cost of registration is $5, which also includes a slice of pizza and a drink. Spots are very limited for this event, so please return registration forms ASAP.

Also, we are selling commemorative Spartan Games shirts this year! Shirt order forms are due this Friday! See Mr. Hettes to purchase.

Salvadori STEAM Program

The Wyoming Valley West High School students did an outstanding job bringing their skyscraper plaza to life! Throughout this 12-week Salvadori Skyscraper STEM Program, the students investigated the engineering principles that make skyscrapers unique, from vertical design to efficient use of space. They explored how columns and beams work together to support tall structures and distribute loads safely. For their final project, students applied these concepts by designing and constructing a structural grid and calculating its usable square footage and height. During the final session, students showed impressive problem-solving skills, collaboration, and curiosity as well as asking thoughtful questions, following complex directions, and working together like real engineers.

News & Events

The High School Back Youth in Action Club recently welcomed Boys’ Basketball Coach Ricky Bell as a special guest speaker. Coach Bell shared an inspiring message centered on the Three Cs: Character, Commitment, and Consistency.

He encouraged students to build strong character, stay committed to their goals, and remain consistent in their efforts both in school and in life. His words were a powerful reminder that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about the choices we make every day.

Thank you, Coach Bell, for taking the time to speak with our students and for motivating them to strive for greatness on and off the court!
